Board of Trustees Elections

At the AGM, we will finalize the election of two new Board members. We now invite nominations from across our community to be submitted no later than May 4.

If you, or someone you know, has the time and commitment to contribute to the continued strength of ISY, we warmly encourage you to consider standing for election.

In line with Board policy, no single nationality may make up more than 50 percent of the governing body. Given the current composition of the Board, both open positions must be filled by non-Myanmar nationals.

The Board Member Profile, including roles and responsibilities, is available here. If you would like to speak with a current member of the Board, please contact Board Chair Ekayi Maw Koo at ekayikoo@yahoo.com.au or Dr. Gregory A. Hedger at director@isyedu.org.

About the Board

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the school's strategic governance. This includes articulating long-term vision, setting policy, safeguarding financial integrity, and protecting the school from risk. The Board also adopts the annual budget, sets tuition and fee scales, and approves major facilities improvement projects.

The Board selects, hires, supports, and evaluates the ISY Director, who is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school. The Board focuses on strategic oversight and is not involved in the day-to-day operations of the school.
